American Indian Movement: Civil Rights in Native Communities

The story of American Indian rights is written into the fabric of American history. This program will look back at the legal battles, policies, treaties and protests in American Indian history, culminating with ongoing American Indian rights activities around the country, including the protests at the Dakota oil pipeline. Krystian Sisson, Muscogee Creek, MSW student at Washington University's Brown School, will discuss the role that policies play in the lives of American Indian communities. She will be followed by a panel of students who will discuss civil rights issues within their tribal communities.

Presented in collaboration with the Buder Center at Washington University.

Price of Admission (if any):
Free
